“Paws and Greetings: Learning How to Safely Meet a Dog!”
Join us for a fun and interactive workshop where kids will learn the right way to approach and greet a dog! Designed to teach safety and build confidence, this session covers the basics of dog body language, proper etiquette for introductions, and tips for understanding a dog’s feelings. Through hands-on activities and demonstrations, kids will practice step-by-step techniques to ensure every greeting is safe and enjoyable—for both them and the dog! Perfect for young animal lovers or those curious about canine communication.

Hiking and Walking With Your Dog- $35.00
This 1 1/2- 2 hour long presentation is chalked full of first aid tips and preparation musts (like what to put in your first aid kit) if you plan on walking or hiking with your dog no matter the distance. This information will help protect your furry friend and will give you a piece of mind! All are welcome to stay for the Q & A session to immediately follow presentation.

Service Dog 101: - $50
Location: Defender K9 Facility
Workshop Length: 2 Hours
This class is designed for individuals interested in training their own service dog or understanding the fundamentals of service dog training. It provides an overview of the skills and behaviors required for a dog to become a reliable service animal, focusing on building a strong foundation in obedience, socialization, and task work.
Key topics include:
• Understanding service dog roles and legal requirements.
• Basic obedience commands such as sit, stay, and recall.
• Public access training basics to ensure appropriate behavior in public spaces.
• Introduction to task training based on individual needs (e.g., retrieving objects, alerting to sounds).
This class is perfect for those just starting their service dog journey, whether working with a young puppy or an adult dog. Handlers will gain the tools and knowledge needed to begin creating a successful partnership with their future service dog
