Residency Programs:
Our Board and Train Program is the perfect solution for busy dog owners looking to establish strong foundations or address specific behavioral challenges. During this immersive training experience, your dog will live with our expert trainers in a structured and nurturing environment, receiving personalized attention tailored to their unique needs.
What’s Included (depending on program option requested):
• Obedience Training: Master commands such as sit, stay, come, and leash manners.
• Behavior Modification: Address issues like jumping, barking, anxiety, or aggression.
• Socialization: Exposure to new people, environments, and other dogs to build confidence.
• Daily Updates: Stay informed with regular photos, videos, and progress reports.
• Transfer Session: At the end of the program, we’ll work with you to ensure a smooth transition and provide the tools to maintain your dog’s success at home.
Whether you’re starting with a puppy or working with an older dog, our program is designed to set your dog up for long-term success and strengthen the bond between you and your pet.

HEALTH AND VACCINATION REQUIREMENTS:
It is the owner’s responsibility to provide current vaccination records to Defender K9 from a licensed veterinarian. Dogs without vaccination records or overdue on vaccines will NOT be accepted for training. All dogs are required to be in good health and have the following vaccinations: Rabies, Distemper, Adenovirus Type 2, and Parvovirus (DA2P).
The following vaccinations are recommended: Leptospirosis, Parainfluenza, Bordetella, Lyme Disease, and Corona. Dogs should be free of external (ex: fleas and ticks) and internal (ex: worms) parasites. It is also recommended that dogs be on a flea and tick preventative. SCHEDULING TRAINING:
Residency programs will be discussed and can be scheduled at the time of your evaluation.
DROP OFF:
Monday-Saturday - by appointment only
PICK UP:
All residency training programs will be scheduled for a pick up time. Please plan to spend between 1 to 1 1/2 hours when picking up your dog.
FOOD AND MEDICATIONS:
It will be your responsibility to provide food for your dog(s) while they are staying at Defender K9. Food needs to be what the dog is used to eating because sudden changes in diet often causes bowel issues. Any medications should be placed in separate baggies with the dispensing instructions clearly written.
PAYMENT:
Half the payment is due when you drop off your dog for residency. The balance is due upon pick up of your dog at the end of their residency training. We accept the following forms of payment: Cash, VISA. MasterCard, Discover, and American Express. * There will be a 3% surcharge on all credit card transactions.
Consultation Session Fee: No Charge.
This fee will be applied towards your training package cost if you choose to continue with training.
